After the rain is a series of paintings started at a family property called Dromore, west of St George, Queensland, along the Maranoa river towards Mitchell.
These studies are a point of departure for larger paintings and pots. They connect me to specific places where I paint en plain air as a point of departure for future bodies of work.
The Maranoa is semi-arid mulga country. Over the last 40 years the traditional wet season has shifted. This series was created after a series of storms, which has become increasingly rare.
